Experiment halls

At UMF there are two experiment halls with tanks and aquariums for performing biological experiments with living organisms. The treatment plant allows experiments with environmentally hazardous chemicals and pharmaceuticals.

  • Outgoing water treatment plant: particle filter, ozone treatment and carbon filter.

  • Incoming water treatment: filter.

  • Number of water streams: 4 of which 3 have regulated temperature.

  • Maximum water flow: 178 l/min.

  • Maximum water flow for pharmaceutical experiment: 50 l/min.

  • Regulated water temperature: 2-20 degrees.

  • Maximum temperature regulation of incoming sea water: +/- 10 degrees. A larger span is possible  with reduced maximum water flow.

  • Maximum fish weight: 39-58 kg, depending on individual size.
