Charlotta Svonni

My name is Charlotta Svonni, and I hold a PhD in History and Education. My research focuses on Sámi education in both historical and contemporary contexts. More specifically, I have examined curricula and syllabi for the Nomad School, the Sámi School, and the Swedish comprehensive school. I am also engaged in Indigenous education from an international perspective. I am based at Várdduo – Centre for Sámi Research and affiliated with Arctic Centre, both at Umeå University. My interest in transformative research and sustainability issues has also led to my involvement in the Umeå Transformative Research Initiative (UTRI).
