The call for Papers for the 1st Scandinavian Symposium for Work and Organizational Psychology is now open
The theme for the 2026 symposium is ‘The future of work’
The programme will include invited keynotes, oral presentations, and round table discussions in line with the conference theme. Across two days of engaging sessions, delegates will have the opportunity to participate in an active dialogue and draw insights on work and organizational psychology from different theories, methods, and perspectives. A key focus for all sessions in the symposium is to provide a platform for work and organizational psychologists to build a stronger Scandinavian and international network that can increase contributions of cutting-edge research and innovative interventions from our field for shaping the future of work.

Submission themes
Submissions are welcome in all areas of research and practice in work and organizational psychology from Scandinavian but also international researchers in the field. Relevant topics include but are not limited to studies that focus on challenges for the future of work, for example in regards to automatization and robotization, artificial intelligence, organizational and workplace changes related to the transition to green energy and environmental sustainability, leadership and the management of people and culture in a more digital work environment, the inclusion of older workers, life-long learning, competence development or challenges related to creating healthy and safe work and employment conditions.
Key information
Authors can present their research and receive feedback from fellow academics by delivering oral presentations or through the discussion of research ideas, or ongoing studies and projects in round-table discussions.
The language of the symposium is English.
Authors will receive notification of abstract acceptance by 15 March 2026.
Only abstracts that have at least one author with a complete registration by April 30 2026 to attend the conference (including payment of conference fee) onsite will be included in the conference proceedings.
Submission guidelines
Please click on the “Submit to conference” button at the bottom of this page to submit your abstract. Submission guidelines are the same for all abstracts, but you will be able to indicate whether you prefer oral presentation or round table discussion. Authors will be notified of acceptance or otherwise by March 15 2026.
For uploading your abstract, you need to provide the following information:
- First author: Name, email address, affiliation (list university, city, country) - Additional authors: Names - Title for your presentation: Up to 150 characters including spaces
The abstract body should be no longer than 2500 characters including spaces.
For oral presentations, the abstract is structured along the following sections: (1) Background; (2) Method; (3) Results; (4) Conclusion. Although delegates can submit presentations for studies in which data collection and/or analysis has not been finalized yet, the research should be completed by the conference date.
The abstract body for round table discussions is structured along the following sections: (1) Background and research problem; (2) aim of round table discussion, (3) suggestion for potential themes or questions to discuss.
Submissions must not include tables, figures, list of references, title, author or institution information, keywords, and any bold or underlined text (italics are okay).
