Workshop

The Scandinavian Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology is organising an Early Career Workshop for PhD students and young researchers undertaking research in the field of work and organizational psychology. Eligible to apply are PhD students of all years, at different stages of completion of their thesis, and early researchers just after completion of their PhD.

The workshop will take place from lunch-to-lunch September 2nd and 3rd, before the main conference begins. It will provide a limited number of early career researchers the opportunity to gain tools and ideas for personal development in the field, as well as develop papers that are in progress drawing on the expertise of senior scholars. Join us for a creative, interactive workshop, which will provide an excellent opportunity to network with other early career researchers and scholars in work and organizational psychology.

Who should apply for the PhD workshop?

Early career researchers (i.e. PhD students or researchers right after the completion of their PhD) may apply for the workshop.

The workshop is sponsored by FORTE, so there will be no extra fee. However, participation in the main conference is required, hence only submissions with an accepted presentation to the main conference will be considered for the early career workshop.

Given that the number of places is limited, if necessary, participants will be selected to get an even representation from the Nordic countries.

Submission guidelines

To participate in the Early Career Workshop, click on the “Submit to the early career workshop” button at the bottom of this page. The application has two parts:

  1. A short motivation for why you want to participate in the early career workshop (200 words)
  2. An abstract of 400 words and five main references describing the study that you want to discuss and receive feedback on in the workshop. It may be the same abstract that you submit to the main conference, but it could also be another study that you are working on.
